Site of Railway Siding to Cement Pit
Site of Railway Siding to Cement Pit
When the Portland Cement Works were operating at Burwell (c.1900-1926) a railway siding connected the cement pit (now flooded) to the Cambridge to Bury St. Edmund's railway line (now dismantled). The siding ran along here - its location is clearly visible to this day.
