Horsey Windpump

Horsey Windpump is a windpump or drainage windmill in the care of the National Trust in the village of Horsey, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. The structure is a grade II* listed building.
The windpump replaced an earlier example in 1911, constructed by Dan England. However it was struck by lightning in 1943 and became unused, replaced by electric pumps. The mill transferred from the Horsey estate to the National Trust in 1948 and first restored in 1961. Before being fully restored by 2004. It is now open to the public in the summer months.
It is said to be haunted after the sad story of the operator being mangled in the machinery during a storm.
