taken 13 years ago, near to Heckington, Lincolnshire, England

Heckington Windmill - Stone Nut
Heckington Windmill - Stone Nut
The stone nut transfers power from the great spur wheel to the runner (or grinding) stone. The hook to the upper left is for hoisting up the stones for re-grooving.
Heckington Windmill

The windmill is a now unique 8 sailed building from the 19th Century. Inside is a complete set of working machinery open to visitors on a regular basis. The mill is currently waiting for sail repairs and a lottery bid to buy the surrounding buildings to further develop the site.

About 30 seconds walk away is the delightful Heckington railway station complete with museum.
