Whissendine windmill
Whissendine windmill is the second tallest in the country with 6 floors and built in 1809 with stone that was reputed to have come from the perimeter walls of the nearby Stapleford Hall. The walls had to be partially removed as they kept the foxes in!
On 7 September 2006 two new sails joined those installed in 2002 so that the windmill has a full complement of four sails for the first time in 90 years.
