Green's windmill in the suburb of Sneinton was built by the father of notable scientist & mathematician George Green in 1807. Today it is a popular working museum & science centre. The mill was badly damaged by fire in 1947 but was eventually restored by Nottingham City Council in the 80s. The windmill began milling again in Dec '86 and the giant sails can still be seen turning (almost) daily.
