NU1433 : Spindlestone Ducket
near to Spindlestone, Northumberland, Great Britain

Spindlestone Ducket
Spindlestone Ducket is the windmill tower of a wind-powered threshing mill. Only two such towers associated with threshing survive in Northumberland and Durham: this one, and another at Chollerton.
The windmill is on the site of the former Outchester Farm, which was demolished and relocated half a mile to the west. Why the windmill tower was left when the rest of the farm was demolished is not known, but it was possibly retained as a mariners' mark. Source - SINE Project: Link
