Fitting the sails, Impington Windmill - 8
Nearly finished fitting sail number two. The ropes running from the end of the horizontal stock are tied down inside the mill to prevent the sails turning during the operation.
Optimistic team members hoped to have all four sails on in one day, but although raising the second took only an hour, raising the first had involved a steep learning curve, and jammed pulleys, and only two sails were finished by the end of the day.
There is still a lot of work to do inside the mill before it will produce flour again.
