The motorway at Trowell was constructed in the mid 1960s and often caused hold-ups for traffic on the main road between Nottingham and Ilkeston. (I know - I was there!) The services to the north of this road opened as Mecca Village in 1967 and were sold to Granada ten years later. The current owner is Moto.
