The drainage and saw mill at Oby was a four-storey red brick towermill located beside the River Bure. The mill has a datestone incorporated in its tower structure and is believed to have been built in 1753. It stood on the Oby Manor House Estate and belonged to the Wyndeham Cremer family. Locally it was often referred to as Wiseman's Mill - as indeed it also is on the OS map - named after the Wisemans who were tentant farmers from before 1836 until after 1937. Link
