TA2143 : Barren Hill, Mappleton

taken 16 years ago, near to Great Cowden, East Riding of Yorkshire, England

Barren Hill, Mappleton
Barren Hill, Mappleton
Not barren in modern times and not much of a hill either, struggling to break through the fifteen metre contour line. In the seemingly endless flat fields of East Yorkshire almost any slight swell in the ground can be named something-or-other hill. Looking east-northeast on the public footpath from Hatfield Wood to Mappleton village, with All Saints' Church and the Old Windmill on the horizon to the left.
