Reigate Windmill aka The Mill Church
Built in around 1765, the brick roundhouse at its base was converted in 1880 into a Chapel of Ease to St Mary's Parish Church, Reigate (see TQ2550 : St Mary Magdalene, Chart Lane). As such it is believed to be the only consecrated windmill in the country.
The chapel, known as the Mill Church, was opened for services on 14 September 1880 and an afternoon service is still held here on the third Sunday of the month during the summer, with occasional other services, including a December carol service.
