This ride runs just north of due west from the A5130 towards Pinfoldpond. In the opposite direction, having crossed the road it leads directly to the west front of Woburn Abbey (see SP9632 : Woburn Abbey from A5130) - this of course is the reason for its existence, being both a ceremonial approach and affording an uninterrupted view westwards from the house.
