Slipway on Alness Point
The former RAF Station at Alness operated during WWII as a Coastal Command flying boat base. This concrete slipway was used for hauling seaplanes (mainly Sunderlands and Catalinas) onto land for servicing. RAF Alness closed in 1986 and the area is now a Business Park.
