Lincoln, Lincolnshire, Great Britain

Lincoln Castle, Lincoln
The East Gate - This is the main entrance to the castle and originally was a plain Norman arch built into a recess in the wall. Years later it was strengthened by a gatehouse and two round turrets. There was also a dry moat, drawbridge and portcullis, which were demolished in 1791. Viewed from the Observatory Tower.
