All Saints Church - rood screen
Unusually, the 16 panels depict kings.
The tower of All Saints church > Link

- Link
dates from the 14th century; it was restored twice during the 20th century and the sun dial above the porch, which has an upstairs room > Link
is modern > Link
. The rood screen (seen here) dates from the 15th century and is unusual in that the paintings on its 16 panels depict not apostles or saints but kings. The tower screen > Link
has the date 1605 carved in its doors. The C14 wall paintings above the arcades > Link
are faded (or were overpainted at some time); the depiction of the stoning of St Stephen > Link
in one of the spandrels is the only remaining scene that still is clearly visible. The octagonal font > Link
is C15. The church is open every day. For more information see: Link
