The rood screen > Link dates from the 15th century and is unusual in that the paintings on its 16 panels depict not apostles or saints but kings. The tower screen (detail seen here) has the date 1605 carved in its doors. The C14 wall paintings above the arcades > Link are faded (or were overpainted at some time); the depiction of the stoning of St Stephen > Link in one of the spandrels is the only remaining scene that still is clearly visible.
