Sandbank Where river used to be, low water
Sandbank Where river used to be, low water
The Ribble has burst through the retaining wall on the Southport side further upstream, through what local fishermen call the "hole in the wall",now running in a more southerly direction. This sandbank has built up with parts of the old wall still visible. The rig that looks to be sitting on the sand is,in fact several miles away. The sands out here are very dangerous and not for the faint hearted.
