Junction of Cambridge Road (B1049) with Kings Hedges Road
Junction of Cambridge Road (B1049) with Kings Hedges Road
This junction has been remodelled considerably in recent years to allow for more traffic getting into Kings Hedges Road for the Arbury Park development currently being built (note the yellow signs on the lamppost) and to provide a better cycle route.

Most locals would call this stretch of road Histon Road rather than Cambridge Road, but it only gains that name inside the city boundary about 400 yards south of here. Things may change soon if a proposal to move the city boundary north to the A14 goes through. When the current boundary was drawn (about 1930), there was no northern bypass and this area was mostly fields, so it didn't matter too much where it went, but now it's felt more logical to include this area in the city than South Cambridgeshire district.
