In 1961, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company were still operating traditionally styled ships such as this. They connected Douglas with Ardrossan, Llandudno, Douglas and Belfast as well as the traditional Lancashire ports of Liverpool and Fleetwood. The demand for ro-ro vessels had not then emerged
