Iron mooring post, Brixham breakwater
Sometimes works of art in churches or cathedrals are constantly touched by visitors, perhaps out of religious superstition. This produces a patina on them. Here on the breakwater, this massive cast post shines in the sunlight. Marcel Duchamp exhibited an urinal as an academic argument and changed artistic theory and perhaps aesthetics, too. It's hard to argue that this artefact, made for purely functional reasons, does not possess aesthetic qualities and it brings to mind Henry Moore.
