The East Pier was first built in 1883 but has been reconstructed several times since. The tall thin lighthouse at the end is maintained by the Newhaven Harbour Board and flashes for 5 seconds on with 5 seconds off. It has a range of 6 nautical miles. View taken from the Newhaven Lifeboat.
