NS5023 : The Old Place of Auchinleck
near to Ochiltree, East Ayrshire, Great Britain

The Old Place of Auchinleck
Erected by the Boswell family around 1612, this replaced the nearby and much older Auchinleck Castle dating from around the 14th Century which had originally been the seat of the Auchinlecks of that Ilk. The Old Place of Auchinleck was finally abandoned in favour of the current Auchinleck House which was completed around 1760.
