SE7350 : An act of God?
near to Wilberfoss, East Riding of Yorkshire, Great Britain

An act of God?
A fairly ordinary looking 19th century headstone just inside the gateway to St John the Baptist's Church in Wilberfoss. Ordinary that is, until you read the inscription:
"This stone was erected by private subscription to the memory of David William Walker who was killed by lightning in the church school room whilst teaching a class of infants June 25th 1879 aged 43 years".
I'm sure there's a moral to this story, I just haven't worked out what it is yet.
