Dittisham
From the River Dart on the Cardiff Castle passenger ferry to Totnes.
The village is believed to be named after 'Deedas', a Saxon chief, who probably settled here soon after the Saxon invasion of Devon, in about 660 A.D. The Domesday survey carried out in 1085-86 records the village as 'Didashim', meaning homestead of Deedas.
