Footpath towards Purley
Footpath towards Purley
The Thames Path leaves the river here for a couple of miles, going inland behind Purley marina. The public footpath is the original towpath and continues along the river for another half mile. However, it stops at a former ferry crossing, where the path crossed to the north bank for less than half a mile, to avoid the land of an objector to the original towpath, exactly where Purley marina is today.
