Mine drainage adit in Cwmerfyn
Cwmerfyn abounds in mining relics but much is overgrown and some has been landscaped. Here is an unmistakable drainage adit. An adit is a horizontal bore into a mine, as opposed to a vertical shaft. Adits were often used for access, but they were also used to drain surplus water (very important in this area of Wales!).
