SU6356 : The lake, The Vyne
near to Sherborne st John, Hampshire, Great Britain

The lake, The Vyne
It is unclear exactly when the lake was formed, although it would have been some time after the original Tudor house was established; there is a reference to a long pond in 1743 which was subsequently enlarged. Today it is home to a variety of waterfowl, including a fine flock of canada geese. The Vyne is a National Trust property.
