Belgrano beach scene
Belgrano beach scene
Considerable reinforcement of the sea wall was performed in the aftermath of the floods caused by waves, high tide and a storm surge in 1990. This view of the beach near to low tide also shows a barge engaged in laying cables to the Rhyl Flats wind-turbine development. The vessel is the AMT Explorer, a barge designed for heavy equipment on its flat deck. In this case the huge, horizontal drum of yellow electrical cable can be seen clearly. Another drama taking place is the emergence of an excavator caught by the rising tide earlier in the day.
