Gargrave signpost
Gargrave signpost
Located outside the popular Dalesman Cafe. This old West Riding signpost has been modified to indicate distances to the two ends of the Pennine Way. Gargrave is where the Pennine Way either enters or leaves the Yorkshire Dales depending on one's direction of travel. This signpost has "spoof" arms, its original position, as indicated by its grid reference [SD]936551, would have been at the junction ofEshton Road and Ray Bridge Lane about one kilometre northeast.
