NY2702 : Three Shires Stone

3 km from Cockley Beck, Cumbria, Great Britain

Three Shires Stone
Three Shires Stone
Monument to William Field, Roadmaster of Cartmel who died in 1860. Erected by his friends after his death. Looking into old Lancashire, sadly you have to drive for an hour south now to reach the Red Rose County. Much lovely fell country stolen from us in 1974!
