A few pheasants can be seen amongst the stubble. It won't be too long now before they have to run the gauntlet of batteries of shotguns waiting to blast them out of the sky. Open season starts on 1st October. The viewpoint and the pheasants are in Wiltshire. The trees beyond are in Hampshire.
