Nappa ford
This is the ford at Nappa where since ancient times the River Ribble has been crossed. It is at the end of the bridleway from Paythorne where today two mountain bikers were to follow the footsteps of ancient travellers across the stepping stones. Unfortunately, due to the heavy rains of recent weeks the run-off from the fells has brought the river into spate, the cyclists will have to return in drier weather.
