Discovered Geograph by accident in January 2007, but quickly became hooked. It has given me another purpose for getting out and about. My wife Julie and I loved walking and we were often out in the countryside covering many of the national and regional trails, until her death from cancer in November 2006.
ST6325 : A reflective walk by Graham Horn
In April and May 2007 I walked the 290-mile Macmillan Way across England from Lincolnshire to Dorset, raising over £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Duchess of Kent House Trust. Many photos of that trip are now on Geograph; see the line of grid squares stretching across my personal map.

Geographer by training and in the mapping and transport industry. Other interests include canal restoration and family history.

I am honoured to have submitted image number 500,000 (which is not the same as having 500,000 images on the site)!
