I cannot remember a time when I did not have access to a camera. They have never been that sophisticated, so I still regard myself as another amateur photographer who most of the time just takes snapshots. I have always put a great emphasis on composition and presentation and I hope some of this is evident in my better photographs.

I believe that much of the art of photography depends on having the right subject, the right composition and being able to see God's beauty of creation amid man's influence on it. 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' is the saying and I believe that good photography is as much to do with the photographer as with the camera he uses.

In the late fifties, I had a brief flirtation with developing black and white before switching my attention to transparencies in the sixties and early seventies. I have many slides of Austria, Switzerland and the Channel Islands as well as the usual family photos. While it was enjoyable at the time, I now consider the prospect of setting up screens and projectors and assembling an appreciative audience far too much of a hassle.

Digital photography now provides a much better solution. So here you will find some of my efforts. I hope you enjoy viewing the images as much as I have enjoyed capturing them.
