Great Goliath Mill - the sails
Great Goliath Mill - the sails
The sails of the converted towermill are lying on the ground in front of it. The view is towards Mill House. Thurlton towermill is also known as Great Goliath Mill. It once used to be a 4 storeys high tarred red brick mill with four patent sails on an iron windshaft. By 1949 the mill had ceased working and the upper storey had been removed. By 1977 the mill had a flat roof and was converted into a private dwelling.
